Lotus Brooms Handcrafted home essentials rooted in nature

Founded by Maya Lin, Lotus Brooms blends old-world craft with modern, sustainable living.

Each broom is designed to last, made from responsibly foraged fibers and finished by skilled artisans-because a cleaner home should also be a cleaner planet. Our promise: enduring utility, honest materials, transparent pricing.

Each broom carries the calm of the hills and the care of the hands that shaped it-crafted to bring balance, beauty, and intention to everyday living.

Community and Circularity

We work with village cooperatives to ensure fair pay and seasonal resilience. Repair workshops and trade-in events keep goods in circulation.

Built to Be Used, Not Disposed

Replaceable heads, modular handles, and step-by-step repair guides keep products in use for years. Take-back credits and composting instructions close the loop.

Measurable Impact

Every purchase contributes to measurable outcomes: tonnes of avoided landfill, local artisan hours supported, and trees planted through our partner rewilding projects.

A Legacy That Began with a Simple Sweep

My name is Ashish Modi, and Lotus Brooms is more than a business to me-it’s my family’s legacy.

I grew up surrounded by the rhythmic sound of broom-making-the soft rustle of dried grass, the hum of twine being pulled tight, and the stories my father told about how every broom we made had a place in someone’s home. What began as a small family trade decades ago has now grown into a trusted brand-but our values haven’t changed.

We still believe in honest craftsmanship, sustainable materials, and creating everyday tools that quietly improve people’s lives.

Rooted in Nature, Crafted by Hand

Our brooms are born from organic grass sourced from the lush hills of Meghalaya, a region known for its natural richness and clean air. We work directly with local communities who have perfected the art of harvesting and drying broom grass sustainably-ensuring every Lotus Broom begins its journey in harmony with the earth.

Each piece is hand-crafted, not mass-produced. Skilled artisans bind, trim, and shape every broom to perfection, just as my grandfather once did. This hands-on process ensures not only exceptional durability but also a personal touch that machines can never replicate.

From Generations to Your Home

Over the years, I’ve watched our brooms evolve-from simple village tools to eco-friendly, design-forward products that fit into modern homes. Yet, the spirit behind them remains the same: to make cleaning effortless, sustainable, and meaningful.

Every time you hold a Lotus Broom, you’re holding a piece of that heritage a blend of my family’s craftsmanship and the purity of nature from the hills of Meghalaya.

Because at the heart of Lotus Brooms is a simple belief: clean homes begin with honest craft.

Thank you for letting our story become part of yours.
